Kane Manor to be Auctioned
A turn-of-the-century national historical landmark, Kane Manor was built for Dr. Elizabeth Kane and her descendants.
According to the Kane Manor web site, "General Thomas L. Kane, a Civil War General, passed away before the house was completed, but his influence is very much a part of the manor. Kane Mansion replaces the 'original homestead' that was destroyed by fire back in 1896. Many of the furniture, family portraits, oil paintings, books, and Civil War memorabilia were salvaged and still remain in the home."
Some of the items being auctioned are available for viewing on the web site of Corcoran Fine Arts Limited.
The house itself is Georgian Colonial Revival style with yellow brick and white wood trim. It features 10 bedrooms, six with private baths.
The property will be offered at auction as both as a single unit and as two separate lots, on one of which the house will be situated and the other will be available for development. The property will be sold by whichever method yields the highest total price.
