Police Barracks Used as B&B

Sunday September 14, 2003
Here's an odd story from South Africa: A police barracks in Pinelands was being used -- apparently unknown to police officials -- as a budget bed and breakfast. And among the clients were... criminals.

According to an article at IOL.co.za, police are investigating why any civilians were permitted to stay at the barracks. The situation was discovered when criminals arrested for auto theft gave their address as "Pinelands Police Barracks."

It gets better: their getaway car was registered using the barracks address.

The article was also publised in The Cape Argus.
