Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, Considers Allowing B&Bs
Monday June 13, 2005
Converting gorgeous -- but expensive to maintain -- Victorian homes to bed and breakfasts has been a great way to restore and save some of America's finest homes. But in many places, it would be illegal to do so. Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, a borough across the Susquehanna River from Harrisburg, is considering an ordinance which would make it legal to operate a B&B within borough limits. According to an article in the Carlisle Sentinel, "the proposed amendment includes language on off-street parking requirements and limits on the length of stay of guests."
