Thornewood Castle - Haunted Bed and Breakfast

Saturday October 20, 2007
"One day I said, 'OK, Chester, I know you're here. Leave me a note. I'm tired of screwing in the light bulbs.' The light bulbs stopped being unscrewed for two weeks, and it only happens now when I'm doing something he doesn't like or something he is especially pleased with..." Thornewood Castle is in Lakewood, Washington.

(1) Susan says:

When we arrived at Thornewood Castle there was a wedding party roaming around with a photographer snapping away. The castle staffperson made sure I signed my credit card receipt upon arrival but did nothing else. We had to carry our own bags up to the 3rd floor–trying not go run into the women in wedding attire on the stairs. There was no refreshment of any kind for us–drinks, food etc. The closest place for us to have dinner was back in Tacoma. In the morning we had to leave at 8am for an appt. The Castle said–well, breakfast is at 9am so sorry. Also the coffeemaker in the room didn’t work. We definitely felt like we were just in the way. And it was way too expensive to be treated so shabbily. And one other thing—there was no literature about the “haunted history” that they push so much. We won’t go back.
