Real Fast Degrees

Sunday January 6, 2008
Recently, my email in boxes have been flooded with fast degree offers such as these:
"Obtain your diploma, bachelors' or Masters' in 2 weeks time from prestigious non-accredited universities based on your present knowledge and life experience."

"Our counselors are confident you will qualify for our Work Experience Degree Program - WEDP. This unique 2-4 week Online program will earn you a full and complete non-accredited degree based on your work experience and past/present knowledge."
Sure, the idea of getting a diploma or degree by the end of the month sounds appealing, but are these offers worth pursuing? The answer is no, absolutely not!

Both offers are for credentials from non-accredited institutions, which means that whatever paper you receive in exchange for your money will be worthless. When choosing a school and program, it's critical to ensure that it is accredited, so it will be accepted by both employers and schools.

Another point about both offers is that they exploit a legitimate process conducted by accredited schools, which will grant college credits for work and life experience through a formal review called a Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition.

Thomas Nixon is an expert on fast, accredited diploma and degrees. I recommend you review his articles, including Before You Register for Distance Learning, Top 10 Ways to Avoid Fake Diplomas and Degrees, How to Get a Cheap College Degree and How to Get a Fast College Degree. You can find a list of links to all these articles and more on Thomas Nixon's article page, a great one to bookmark.
