At DesBarres Manor Inn, we have an annual holiday tradition of sharing family recipes for holiday baking with our newsletter subscribers. Two years ago I shared my great grandmother’s recipe for melt-in-your-mouth shortbread cookies. The baking of these cookies marked the official start of the Christmas holidays in our home growing up in Cape Breton Island.
