Author Nora Roberts Opens Bed and Breakfast

Thursday February 19, 2009
Author Nora Roberts has opened a bed and breakfast in Boonsboro, Maryland. The eight available guest rooms at the Inn BoonsBoro are each named after a famous literary romantic couple, such as Nick and Nora from Dashiell Hammett's The Thin Man, Elizabeth and Darcy from Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, and Westley and Buttercup from William Goldman's The Princess Bride. Rates range from $220 to $300 per night.

Roberts, who has written more than 150 romance novels, announced her plans to renovate the historic building, the first stone building constructed in Boonsboro, in the spring of 2007. In February 2008, a fire gutted the building. Now, after a $3 million renovation project, the B&B is open for business.
