The sights include a collection of historic mansions, vacation retreats from the late 1800s and early 1900s for wealthy Americans. Several mansions are open to the public for tours. I’ve always enjoyed the Bed and Breakfast experience more because of the closer to home and personal feeling you get from them.

Newport has some incredible B&B’s. During the offseason, you can get some really good deals also.
We have a large family (4 kids + 2 parents) so we have found that renting a house is a great alternative to a B&B or hotel and much more affordable. This fall we stayed at a lovely house right in town. It was great since we had the entire house to sprawl out in and I could cook.
