Since opening in 2004, Washington Plantation Bed and Breakfast in Washington, Georgia, has given a 20 percent discount to members of the military, police and firefighters. That offer was recently increased for active military personnel scheduled to be deployed to a war zone within 45 days, or returning from such a deployment within 30 days. They can now receive a 33 percent discount on stays of two or more nights. Tom Chase, who runs the B&B with his wife Barbara, is a veteran.

Five guest rooms are available at Washington Plantation B&B, each with a private bath and a queen- or king-size bed. The inn sits on seven acres filled with a variety of flowers and trees.
