Thurston House - Near Orlando, Florida

While staying in various bed and breakfasts over the years, Carole M. Ballard and her husband always thought that becoming innkeepers would be something they would do. After 18 years in corporate life, they decided to make their dream a reality.

Today, Carole has been the innkeeper at Thurston House in central Florida, just 10 minutes from Orlando and 30 minutes from Disney World, for the past 16 years. "Everything just fell into place here," she says. So far, she has welcomed guests from 21 countries, all 50 states, and four territories.
