What Kind of Traveler Are You?

By December 31, 2012

Follow me on:

Courtesy Inn At WintersunMy wife and I are friends with another couple who, when they travel, like to make sure they see all the top museums and attractions offered by a particular destination. They adhere to a pretty strict schedule and get a lot of satisfaction out of ticking of the top spots from their list. My wife and I, on the other hand, tend to be slightly less ambitious in our travels. We wake up slowly, wander aimlessly and linger gleefully.

If you're the first type of traveler, chances are good you'd seek out a bed and breakfast that serves as a simple "launching pad" from which you can execute your campaigns into the local culture (or the local foliage). A good clean room at an affordable price and hearty breakfast that fuels you up for a day of doing would be tops on your list.

If you're like us though, you might want to check out either this list of inns with fireplaces or the round up of destination inns I've recently put together. They represent inns where you can take a break from being a tourist and just nestle in and enjoy doing nothing for a few days.

One of the best destination B&Bs I've been to recently has got to be the Inn at Wintersun in North Carolina. Even though it's near the bustling town of Asheville, the grounds are so beautifully peaceful and criss-crossed with hiking trails that it's hard to ever leave the property.

So ... lets hear it. What kind of traveler are you?
