Ingredients:
- BOTTOM:
- 2 unbaked 8-inch pie shells
- 1 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 1/2 cup cocoa
- 1/2 square semi-sweet baking chocolate
- 1 tablespoon margarine
- TOP:
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/4 cup margarine
- 1/4 cup Crisco
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- dash of salt
Preparation:
Bottom: In a double boiler, combine sugar, warm water, cocoa, chocolate and margarine until melted. Let cool.Top: Combine sugar, margarine and Crisco. Beat in eggs, milk, vanilla, flour, baking powder and salt until smooth.
Divide cooled chocolate between both pie shells. Spoon 1/2 of the top batter over the chocolate layer working from the outside in.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes.
