In addition to providing amazing views of the city skyline, Algiers Point offers a small-town atmosphere and buildings dating from the late 19th-century and earlier (although many older ones in Algiers' upper section were destroyed in an 1895 fire).
Visitors can also tour Mardi Gras World and experience New Orleans' carnival atmosphere any time of year in a warehouse filled with props and figures created for floats used in parades throughout the world (including, of course, Mardi Gras).
Among the lodging provided by the 1870 Banana Courtyard French Quarter/New Orleans B&B are the De la Ronde Guest House and the Asian and Romance rooms. At the De la Ronde, a Creole home located a block from the ferry, there are two 1-bedroom apartments, each sleeping four, and a two-bedroom apartment and a two-bedroom suite, each sleeping six. Another accommodation, which is located two blocks from the ferry and has been featured in the local Tour of Homes, includes the Asian room, with a king bed, and the Romance room, with a queen bed. This late 1880s Creole building has a deck overlooking a garden and fish pond with fountain, as well as an enclosed sunroom; no children permitted.
This 1890 Victorian camelback home on Opelousas Avenue offers two guest suites, as well as a fountain and magnolia trees in its courtyard. There are limited accommodations for children.
This 1920s Arts and Crafts style cottage offers travelers two options. The suite includes a double bed and a queen bed, a kitchenette, private bath and private entrance. The room has a queen bed, a sitting area and private bath.
