Boat and Breakfasts - Yachts and Houseboats

Sleep on the water in these unique getaways.

By Elizabeth Arneson, About.com

Romance is watching a sunrise or sunset while listening to the gentle lapping of waves and breathing the fresh sea air. You can have all this and more with a stay aboard a yacht or sailboat or even a floating villa or houseboat.

Some accommodations allow the guests to have the entire boat to themselves; others provide a number of cabins to choose from. In many boat and breakfast offerings, the vessel remains docked at a marina, but there are often separate cruises available, and some packages include a sailing excursion.

Please note that the sleeping quarters are often quite cozy, and the bathroom facilities may be cramped, shared, and/or without a shower.
