Jailer's Inn Bed and Breakfast
Bardstown, Kentucky
Dating back to about 1819, this building has 30-inch thick stone walls and iron bars on the windows. It was used for housing prisoners until 1987. One of the six rooms (the Jail Cell) features two bunk beds used by inmates -- although guests probably prefer the more luxurious waterbed.

Old Jail Bed and Breakfast
Taylors Falls, Minnesota
The Jail Cottage at this inn was built in 1884 as the Taylors Fall jail; it housed four cells. Built from stacked 2x4s, the building has also been used as an ice house and a shoe repair shop. Part of the B&B since 1981, the jail building today is a suite featuring a wood fireplace, a loft bedroom, and a private balcony in addition to original iron doors and bars on the windows.
