Rails: The 80-foot-long 1895 Work Train Dormitory Car has two bedrooms, a living room, dining room, refrigerator and microwave.

Breakfast: A continental breakfast is delivered to the train car upon request.

More: This child-friendly bed and breakfast also offers a single guest room and a cottage and welcomes pets. There is an outdoor pool. Jefferson is located about 170 miles east of Dallas.

Woodrow House
Lubbock, Texas

Rails: Across the street from Texas Tech University, the child-friendly Woodrow House is home to a Santa Fe Caboose, containing a queen bed, futon couch, kitchenette and conductor's chairs in the cupola.

Breakfast: A full breakfast is served.

More: Seven guest rooms are available in the main house.

Red Caboose Getaway
Sequim, Washington

Rails: The three rail cars of the Red Caboose Getaway can be found between Port Townsend and Port Angeles on Washington's Olympic Peninsula. Each has a queen feather bed and refrigerator. Featuring train-related decor, the Casey Jones boasts an original conductor's desk and chair and a cupola intercom. The Orient Express and the Circus Caboose each contain a two-person whirlpool bath and gas fireplace.

Breakfast: A continental breakfast is delivered to the cabooses.

More: Sequim is located about 100 miles north of Olympia, to the northeast of Olympic National Park.

Rudys' Bed and Breakfast Caboose
Tavistock, Ontario, Canada

Rails: The 1911 CNR caboose at Rudys' Bed and Breakfast sleeps four.

Breakfast: Breakfast is served in the home's sunroom.

More: There is a suite available in the innkeepers' house, and the grounds feature an outdoor pool and a perennial garden. The caboose is available May through October.

Train Station Inn
Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia, Canada

Rails: Train Station Inn is home to seven cabooses, dating from 1911 to 1978. Most offer a queen bed, but the accommodations vary from a single berth car with futon and kitchenette to a king bed car with fireplace and living room.

Breakfast: A continental breakfast is included; a full breakfast is available for an additional fee.

More: The 1887 inn, originally the Tatamagouce Station, offers three guest rooms on the second floor and a railway museum, café and gift shop on the first floor. The 1928 Railway Dining Car serves dinner four days weekly from mid-June through September.

United Kingdom

Old Railway Station, The
Petworth, West Sussex, England

Rails: Four restored British Pullmans make up the rail accommodations at the Old Railway Station.

Breakfast: Breakfast is served either on the platform or in the original booking hall or delivered to your railcar.

More: There are guest rooms available in the 1894 inn, formerly Petworth Railway Station. It is located 52 miles south of London.

Australia

Last Stop: Ambledown Brook Bed and Breakfast
New South Wales, Australia

Rails: Two railway cars -- a 1929 Melbourne Tram and a 1935 Train Carriage -- contain a total of four guest rooms.

Breakfast: A full breakfast is served. A three-course dinner can be arranged in advance.

More: A tennis court, swimming pool and barbecue are available at this 40-acre child-friendly bed and breakfast, located about 15 miles north of Canberra, where guests can visit the Railway Museum.
