Spend a March (2001) weekend at the B&B at Taylor's Corner, an historic 18th century colonial in Woodstock, Connecticut, boasting eight working fireplaces -- including one in each guestroom.

Upon your arrival Friday evening, innkeeper Peggy Tracy will bring you to a room prepared especially for you, decorated with fresh flowers, a wine and cheese basket, and a natural wreath to take home as a remembrance of this special weekend. Later in the evening join the other guests for stew and dessert, cooked on the hearth. Retire to your room and gently fall asleep with the fireplace flickering in the background.

Awaken Saturday morning to a full country breakfast. Following your Saturday activities of sightseeing or antiquing, return to the inn to freshen up so you can continue your escape at Old Sturbridge Village. Experience a 19th century tavern supper. After dinner pass the time with a variety of period entertainments, plus strolling musicians and 19th century "gambling."

Return to Taylor’s Corner for another night’s rest. Sleep in Sunday morning. Breakfast will be available buffet style until noon. Take advantage of late check-out at 2:00 p.m.

Call Peggy for information or reservations at (860) 974-0490. Visit http://www.neguide.com/taylors/ for more information about the inn. Taylor’s Corner is 90 minutes from Boston, 50 minutes from Hartford or Providence, 3 hours from Portland, Maine, or New York City, and 1 hour from the New London ferry.
