Julie Wilson, innkeeper of the Marshall Slocum Guest House in Newport, Rhode Island, recently announced the following special packages:

Spring Has Sprung in the City by the Sea

Two nights lodging in your choice of rooms, plus a narrated tour of Newport, dinner for two at the Mooring Restaurant, and clam chowder at the Rhode Island Quahog Company. In March, 2001, Sunday-Thursday: $185 per night plus tax. Weekends: $230 per night plus tax. April 1, 2001, through May 17, 2001: Midweek $215 per night plus tax. Weekends $260 per night plus tax.

Three-Night Stay: The Gilded Newport Getaway

Check in Monday or Tuesday. A guest room of your choice, a full breakfast each morning, refreshments each afternoon, lunch or dinner for two at the Mooring Restaurant, tickets to Astors' Beechwood, tickets to five of the Preservation Society of Newport County Mansions, tickets aboard either the Schooner Madeline or Rum Runner, a complimentary lobster dinner at the inn on Wednesday night. May 18, 2001, through April 30, 2001: $215 per night plus tax. June 1, 2001, through October 31, 2001: $235 per night plus tax.

Four-Night Jazz Special

Must reserve by June 1, 2001. A guest room of your choice, afull breakfast each morning, refreshments each evening, tickets to Friday night concert at the Newport Casino, transportation to and from water shuttle to Fort Adams, tickets to Saturday and Sunday concerts at Fort Adams, lobster dinner at the inn. $300 per night plus tax; must stay four nights or more (the fourth night is half price).
