CONNECTICUT
- Stone Ridge Manor
Ridgefield, Connecticut
The decor of the Tudor-style Stone Ridge Manor, built in 1911, takes guests back to the Arts and Crafts period. This B&B has two guest rooms, and its three-acre grounds include a pool and a meadow.
DELAWARE
- Cowgills Corner Bed and Breakfast
Dover, Delaware
Sheep, llamas, beef cattle and Border collies all call Cowgills Corner home. The original structure of this B&B, which offers two guest rooms with queen beds and a shared bath, was built in the 1760s. The property includes a spa and above-ground pool, as well as two campers for guests who prefer to spend the night in a more rustic setting. A full country breakfast is served, and accommodations for horses and dogs are available.
- Little Creek Inn
Dover, Delaware
Set on eight acres, this 1860 three-story Italianate inn boasts a gym and a pool with patio and serves a full breakfast. All four guest rooms include data ports and two have Jacuzzis. Well-behaved dogs are welcome.
- Marshall House, The
Milford, Delaware
In 1879, two town houses -- a stagecoach inn, erected in 1787, and Milford's first bank, built in 1811 -- were joined to create this Victorian home. In addition to three guest rooms, this inn provides five meeting rooms; the smaller ones can accommodate from 6 to 12 people and the largest one can hold 30. Guests of the Marshall House can make use of the common areas, including the pool, of its sister inn located across the street (the Towers); together the two B&Bs are known as the Inns on the Mispillion. A full gourmet breakfast is served.

Milford, Delaware
Built in 1783 and remodeled in 1891 in the steamboat Gothic style, this B&B features French Victorian decor and a Music Room with an 1899 Knabe grand piano and working Victrola. There are four second-floor rooms and two third-floor rooms for guests, who can also enjoy the walled garden, gazebo porch, and pool. Serving a full gourmet breakfast, the Towers can be found in the North Milford Historic District, which is located about 18 miles south of Dover.
MASSACHUSETTS
- Constitution Marina's Bed and Breakfast Afloat
Boston, Massachusetts
With a dockside swimming pool and views of Boston's Inner Harbor and downtown skyline, the Constitution Marina provides an evening's rest for one or two couples on a yacht, sailboat or boatel; guests can also plan a charter.

A full country breakfast is featured at this 1856 Federal country house with a heated pool set on four acres. Canopy four-poster beds and period antiques furnish the eight guest rooms.
NEW HAMPSHIRE
- Inn at Danbury
Danbury, New Hampshire
Among the features of this 1870 B&B on five wooded acres are a full country breakfast, indoor pool, hot tub for adults only, massage services, wraparound four-season porch, English gardens, and cross-country ski and snowmobile trails from the inn. Sixteen rooms and suites (most with queen beds and one with a fireplace) occupy the carriage house and historic wings. Well-behaved children age 5 and up are welcome. Danbury is located in rural central New Hampshire, about 30 miles northwest of Concord.
PENNSYLVANIA
- Weatherbury Farm
Avella, Pennsylvania
Located in Avella, 20 miles southwest of Pittsburgh, four guest rooms in two buildings are available at this 1870s property, which continues to be a working beef and sheep farm. Guests are invited to walk in the meadows with mother animals and their babies, which arrive beginning in mid-April. Well-mannered children are welcome, and a playground and heated outdoor pool are available. A full farm breakfast is served.
- Lady of the Lake Bed and Breakfast
Ligonier, Pennsylvania
Guests can choose from numerous activities at this 60-acre, child-friendly B&B 42 miles east of Pittsburgh; among them, walking nature trails, paddle boating on the 25-acre lake, visiting the petting farm, enjoying the heated outdoor pool and hot tub, playing tennis on the lit court and taking a sleigh ride. Accommodations include one room with queen bed and fireplace in the main house; three rooms (two with whirlpool tubs) in the 19th-century Ice House; and Lazy Duck Cottage with a kitchenette and a sitting room overlooking the lake. A six-course country breakfast is served, and boarding for horses and campsites are available.

Malvern, Pennsylvania
Pine hedges and trees surround the pool at this 1720 stone farmhouse with original fireplaces and random-width wood floors. A full gourmet breakfast is served in front of the 12-foot-wide walk-in fireplace at this three-room, antique-filled, child-friendly inn set on four landscaped acres. About 25 miles northwest of Philadelphia, Malvern is located near Valley Forge National Historical Park.

Marietta, Pennsylvania
There are three guest rooms at this child-friendly bed and breakfast, where the grounds include a pool, gazebo and gardens. A full breakfast is provided.
- Old Fogie Farm Bed and Breakfast
Marietta, Pennsylvania
Your hosts are longtime organic farmers; the farm houses a variety of creatures, including a llama and a pot-bellied pig. Guests can participate in farm chores and then relax in the water garden swimming pond with Japanese koi (note: this is not a traditional swimming pool) or outdoor hot tub. There are two traditional B&B rooms as well as two suites with equipped kitchens and breakfast not included. Children are welcome.

Renfrew, Pennsylvania
Located about 35 miles north of Pittsburgh, this 1821 farmhouse is set on 180 acres, which include an outdoor pool, a reception hall which can hold 175 people, a Japanese koi pond, two additional small ponds, a gazebo-enclosed hot tub and a variety of animals. There are six guest rooms and suites, all with queen beds and a full country breakfast. The billiard room contains a pool table, air hockey, foosball, boccerball and pinball. Children are welcome.
RHODE ISLAND
- Jacob Hill Inn
Providence, Rhode Island
An outdoor pool and tennis court are open to guests of this 1723 inn's eight guest rooms with Jacuzzi or whirlpool tub and two 2-bedroom suites; all accommodations include king or queen beds, and most have working fireplaces. A full country breakfast is served.
VERMONT
- Three Mountain Inn
Jamaica, Vermont
Guests can rent the private cottage that overlooks the outdoor pool at this 1790 Colonial inn among the Green Mountains of Vermont. Two other guest buildings each house seven rooms, most with king or queen beds and some with fireplaces, woodstoves or Jacuzzi tubs. A full breakfast is served. Jamaica is located 26 miles north of Brattleboro.
