This bed and breakfast has been welcoming guests for more than 225 years. The core of the house, most likely the oldest home in Lenox, Massachusetts, dates from 1766-67 and was built on the first residential property deeded by the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1765.

This Federal-style red brick home was built in 1799 by Samuel Harrison, the bachelor son in a shipbuilding family. After the Civil War, Dr. Robert Dodson purchased the home and set up his medical office in what is now the dining room. It became known as "Dr. Dodson's house."
