Bed and Breakfasts in Montgomery, Alabama

B&Bs in and near Montgomery, Alabama's state capitol.

By Elizabeth Arneson, About.com

Although remembered by some as the site of Rosa Parks' historic bus boycott, Montgomery is now home to some great cultural events and facilities, including the Alabama Shakespeare Festival, the Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald Museum and the Montgomery Ballet Company.

There are also plenty of outdoor and recreational activities to take part in while visiting Montgomery, enjoying the city's weather and southern-style restaurants. The Montgomery Motor Speedway hosts local, state and regional stock car drivers. Those with an interest in UFOs will be able to see where two airline pilots reported a very interesting UFO on July 24, 1948. And on Sunday morning, you won't have trouble finding a place to worship.

The Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce has put together a Visitor Guide to further assist in your trip planning.

Remember, of course, that no vacation is complete without a stay in a great bed and breakfast. You can use this online form to order a free brochure from the Bed and Breakfast Association of Alabama, or visit the inns listed here.
