What if we need to arrive early or leave late?

By Elizabeth Arneson, About.com

Question: What if we need to arrive early or leave late?
Answer: Sometimes, special arrival and/or departure times can be accommodated. But don't surprise the innkeeper and expect things to go smoothly.

For example, if you were told that check-in is at 3:00 p.m. and you arrive unexpectedly at noon, it's completely reasonable to expect that the innkeeper will have nowhere to put you. In fact, the innkeeper might be out running errands and unable to let you in.

Remember, B&Bs typically are not large establishments. They may only have a handful of rooms and often the owner-innkeepers do not have any employees.
