Do pets live at bed and breakfasts?

By Elizabeth Arneson, About.com

Question: Do pets live at bed and breakfasts?
Answer: Sometimes pets do live at bed and breakfasts. Even if they do, most innkeepers never allow their pets to go into guest rooms. However, if you have allergies you should be sure to ask which rooms (guest rooms or even common areas) are open to the pets.

Bed and breakfasts should make a point of listing any resident pets on their web sites, but unfortunately not all of them do. If this is a concern for you, be sure to ask before making a reservation.
