What other questions should I ask when I call a B&B to make a reservation?

By Elizabeth Arneson, About.com

Question: What other questions should I ask when I call a B&B to make a reservation?
Answer: In addition to questions related to other issues covered in this Bed and Breakfasts FAQ, you might want to consider asking these questions before making a reservation at a B&B:

  • What is there to do in the area around the inn, and how far do we have to travel to get to it?

  • Where is parking available? If the B&B is in a city, you should also ask about any parking charges.

  • If the inn has fireplaces, what kind are they (real wood or gas-burning)?

The bottom line: If an issue is important to you and it is not covered on an inn's web site, ask before you make a reservation. Every bed and breakfast is different, so you should not assume that you know the answer, no matter how many times you have stayed at a B&B.

Here is some more advice on things you may want to do before you make a bed and breakfast reservation.
