Heber Springs, Arkansas - There are three or four cooking schools annually, each with two nights' lodging, six hours of instruction, and all meals from Friday dinner through Sunday lunch. Cuisines include American, Latin, Caribbean, Italian and French. Custom schools for small groups can be arranged. The 15 rooms of this century-old Williamsburg Colonial offer queen beds and full breakfast.
Bridgewater House Bed and Breakfast, The
Cordova, Tennessee - Certifed by the American Culinary Federation, innkeeper Katherine Mistilis demonstrates house specialties as well as participant requests. The classes require at least a two-night stay in the two queen-bed rooms of this 1890s Greek Revival home about 20 miles east of Memphis. Formerly a schoolhouse, the B&B is furnished with antiques, family heirlooms and Oriental rugs.
House on Bayou Road, The
New Orleans, Louisiana - The cooking school at this inn and the adjacent Restaurant Indigo offers two-hour Louisiana classes for up to eight students and a five-day Grand Class or two-day Mini Class on French cookery. Seasonal, specialty and private classes are available. Serving a full breakfast, this 1798 plantation house with pool and hot tub has eight rooms (four with Jacuzzis).
