Bed and Breakfasts for Sale - Best Listings

There are numerous web sites that feature B&Bs listed for sale, many of which are barely worth visiting because they have so few actual listings. Here are my picks for the best for sale listings. If you're in the market for a B&B, make sure to visit several of them -- many of the listings are exclusive to one site.

1. The B&B and Country Inn Marketplace

Inns are listed for the United States, Canada, and some international locations. Listings typically have numerous photos and a good amount of information. Because there are so many listings and so much information is provided, this is a fantastic place to start your B&B search.

2. Bed & Breakfast Inns Online

These for sale listings are updated regularly, with inns featured in the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. The many listings are very useful, but it would be nice to have more photos available. This is another excellent site to start a search.

3. Professional Association of Innkeepers International

This professional association maintains a classified listing of inns for sale. It's not as robust as the two sites listed above, but it is ueful nonetheless. The listings include good information but few photos.

4. Bed and Breakfast For Sale

The interface is a little clunky, and the amount of information varies by inn (it depends on how much the innkeeper or Realtor was willing to pay). Still, this is a very useful resource to do basic research and nearly every listing includes a link where you can gather more information.

5. The B&B Team

The only downside to this site is its limited nature -- only a handful of states are listed. However, the listings do have good information and multiple photos. Aspiring innkeepers should definitely visit and browse.
