The Farnsworth and The Piedmont are similar queen-size rooms with a Hollywood glam style and original 1940s restored baths, both located off the same hallway on one side of foyer, and on the opposite side of the foyer, near the kitchen, is the Hinman Suite.

Upstairs are the Master Suite and the Gables Suite, which, along with the Hinman, offer a king-size bed plus a walk-in, multi-head shower with seating area and a marble vanity and heated marble floor in the bath; an additional amenity in the Master and Hinman suites is a spa tub.

More About Stonehurst Place:
Built in 1896 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Stonehurst Place (also known as The Hinman House) underwent a million-dollar-plus renovation and restoration in 2008. Among the many green features of this EarthCraft-certified bed and breakfast are a water reclamation system that uses covered gutters to pipe collected rainwater into two 1,700-gallon cisterns and rooftop solar thermal panels that heat the hot water.

Personal Recommendation:
Stonehurst Place is truly all about quality and service -- and being green. During our stay at this Atlanta bed and breakfast, my husband and I appreciated the comfy bed as well as the fabulous linens and heated towels. There was also plenty of romance in the Hinman Suite, thanks to the in-room fireplace, spa tub and huge, multi-head shower (amazing!).

The inn's artwork, furnishings and fixtures are a joy to behold; there's always something gorgeous or unique to take in.

Innkeeper and chef Trenell Smith provided exceptional hospitality and food (delicious snacks on arrival and a satisfying breakfast). And of course owner Barb Shadomy is to be much admired for her initiative and innovation in keeping the historic residence's history at the forefront while creating an environmentally-friendly and energy-efficient inn.
