Location:
Yellow Rose Inn is on North Delaware Street, between East 14th and 15th streets, in the Old Northside Historic District of Indianapolis, Indiana.

Guest Rooms:
One room and three suites, all with a king bed. The Emerald Suite provides a queen-size sofa bed in its sitting room and the Ballroom Suite contains a separate bedroom with a queen bed. All rooms are located on the second floor, except for the 1,800-square-foot Ballroom Suite on the third floor.

A two-person antique porcelain tub can be found in the Oak Room and the Emerald Suite, and a gas log fireplace creates a cozy atmosphere in the Oak Room and the Wedgewood Suite, which boasts a 23-by-13-foot bath with a two-person spa tub, a marble shower, two porcelain sinks, crystal chandeliers and a stained glass window.

The Ballroom Suite:
Guests of the luxurious Ballroom Suite at this Indianapolis bed and breakfast enjoy a raised king-size sleeping pavilion, lounge area, kitchen, dining area and separate queen bedroom. Features include white oak flooring, an 1873 Brunswick Monarch pool table, a two-person jetted tub, a mirrored wall with a barre, and a massage table.

Price Range:
Rates range from $175 for the Emerald Suite to $250 for the Ballroom Suite.

Breakfast:
A full breakfast is served in the formal dining room of this Indianapolis bed and breakfast.

Special Features:
A unique offering of this bed and breakfast is its large roof deck with a six-person hot tub and view of the downtown skyline. Also outside, guests can relax on the side porch or in the rear gardens of the Yellow Rose Inn.

On the inn's ground floor, guests have access to three formal rooms -- library, parlor and dining room -- each with a working fireplace. There is also a butler's pantry stocked with beverages and snacks.

Guests are invited to borrow the inn's bicycles to tour the city and to set up an appointment for an in-room massage. Internet access is also provided.

Personal Recommendation:
My husband and I felt like celebrities while guests in the extravagantly spacious and delightfully fun Ballroom Suite, our only stay to date in accommodations with a penthouse apartment vibe.

And if a break from the lavish and carefree atmosphere of our suite was needed, it was just a few stairs to the rooftop deck to take in the spectacular view of the Old Northside neighborhood and the downtown skyline.

More About Yellow Rose Inn:
At breakfast, an exceptional meal in an exquisite setting, it was a pleasure to chat with gracious owners Betty and Larry Davis. They are to be applauded for their great achievement in restoring, decorating and furnishing this elegant bed and breakfast, affording guests to the chance to enjoy the beauty of the building and its captivating décor.

For several years, the Davises collected architectural antiques for the restoration of this 1898 yellow-brick Georgian Colonial Revival, which offers 8,000 square feet of living space. Highlights include fine antique furnishings, gas chandeliers, carved walnut and marble fireplace mantels, an early Gothic Revival staircase, and beveled glass and stained glass features.

Also an ethereal hand-painted mural by Wendell Field that surrounds a marble wall fountain will capture guests' attention as they explore the grand entrance hallway.
