Location:
Sand Hills Lighthouse Inn is in Ahmeek, Michigan, on the far northern part of the state's peninsula and on the coast of Lake Superior. Ahmeek is about four and a half hours north of Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Guest Rooms:
Eight rooms are available at this Michigan bed and breakfast, each with a king- or queen-sized bed and a private bathroom. Two of the rooms also have whirlpool bathtubs and balconies overlooking Lake Superior. There are no televisions or telephones.
Price Range:
Rates range from $150 to $225 per night, double occupancy. A two-night minimum stay is required on weekends and from May through October.
Breakfast:
A gourmet breakfast is served each morning at 9:30 a.m. Beverages and pastries are provided for guests who must leave earlier.
Special Features:
Local attractions include waterfalls, copper mines, Isle Royale (America's only island national park), the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum, and more.

Sand Hills Lighthouse, built in 1917, is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places, and it is the largest and last manned lighthouse built on the Great Lakes. It remained active until 1939.
Innkeeper Bill Frabotta purchased the property in 1961, began renovations in 1992, and opened it as a bed and breakfast in 1995.
