Most Unusual Items Left in a Bed and Breakfast Room
Innkeepers talk about some of the odd things guests leave behind

By Elizabeth Arneson, About.com

In the About.com Bed and Breakfasts Forum, innkeepers discuss all sorts of topics. In one discussion thread, they talked about the most unusual items guests have left behind.

Here are some of the comments:

"I was just talking to one of the innkeepers here in town and someone left a loaded gun under their pillow."

"A drawer full of medications."

"Lower dentures (false teeth) in a gross blue container."

"Most often it is nighties or undies left in the sheets, cell phone cords pluged in or toothbrushes left in the bathroom."

"The 'left behind' item that had me most worried was a kid's blankie. I called immediately. Thank goodness that clever Mum had made the blankie (and about 30 others) from a jersey sheet so that it could be replaced as needed."

"We've had all the usual stuff: meds, clothes, books, jewelry. What had hubby scratching his head, though, were the bathrobe ties looped around the bedposts. I told him he needs to get out more often!"

"My answer would be pervy, so it will go undetailed. But let's just say there was an assorted bagful of items."
