The Berserk Telephones
A Strange But True Innkeeper Story

By Elizabeth Arneson, About.com

The Mill House Inn
Innkeepers Sylvia and Gary Muller
East Hampton, New York

Last fall (2000), on a Friday the 13th with a full moon, suddenly all the electronics in the inn went haywire!

The printer started printing out gibberish and the telephone system went berserk. The main lines started ringing in the guest rooms, the voice mail was all confused, and it took us most of the weekend (with a full house of course) to get it back under control.

Our resident ghost -- Patrick Lynch (every old inn must have at least one) -- was having fun with us, for sure.
