Rockwell, once described by a television talk show host as being "as much apple pie as anyone in this country," painted the first of 360-plus covers for The Saturday Evening Post in 1916 and thus began his lifelong love affair with the American public. "I paint life as I would like it to be," he once said.
For a significant portion of the most productive years of his career, Rockwell lived in Arlington, Vermont, and Stockbridge, Massachusetts. Each now welcomes visitors with a museum dedicated to Rockwell and several inviting bed and breakfasts.
The inns listed here all have a tie to Norman Rockwell, most by being located in a town he once called home.
