Location:

Newport, Rhode Island, which is about an hour south of Providence.

Guest Rooms:

5 rooms are available (three suites and two staterooms), all with private baths. Every room features a king bed, fireplace, marble in the bathroom, two-person whirlpool tub, and a media center. The Above and Beyond Suite is a 1,500-square-foot accommodation described by the innkeepers as "perhaps the most extraordinary guest chamber in Newport." It takes up the entire third floor of the inn, and includes six rooms. Among them are two bedrooms and a wood-paneled library that features secret passageways and compartments. The Victoria Suite offers a sitting room with an antique built-in Victorian mirror cabinet.

Price Range:

$250 to $595 per night.

Breakfast:

A gourmet breakfast is served each morning. Most guests choose to have breakfast served in their room.

Special Features:

The Abigail Stoneman Inn allows guests to choose from a pillow menu. Choosing from 20 different pillow types, such as "Primaloft Reading Wedge" and "Silk-Filled Pillow" may not be easy -- but it certainly sounds luxurious. Guests are also given a bathing experience menu, picking from 10 choices like "Love of Lavender" and "Citrus Soak." The water bar gives visitors a large selection of bottled waters. Finally, dozens of teas are also available for guests, served during afternoon teas or as part of their private "anytime tea" offering.

More About Abigail Stoneman Inn:

Originally designed and built in 1866, Abigail Stoneman Inn -- named after Newport's first woman entrepreneur and first woman innkeeper -- is now a AAA 4-diamond inn. One of three inns collectively known as The Legendary Inns of Newport (the other two are Cliffside Inn and Adele Turner Inn), Abigail Stoneman Inn was converted to a bed and breakfast in 1996. As a B&B, it was originally known as the James Finch House Inn, named in honor of the home's first owner, a banker and businessman.

Special packages are often available throughout the year, including a "deluxe" romance package that features a bottle of champagne, chocolates, and a dozen red roses. Signature spa service is also available.
