The Captain Lord MansionMore About The Captain Lord Mansion:
Built during the war of 1812 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, The Captain Lord Mansion has operated as a bed and breakfast for more than 25 years. Shipbuilder Nathaniel Lord had the home built during a time when commerce was disrupted by a British blockade; he used his idle shipwrights to construct the home.Innkeepers Bev Davis and her husband Rick Litchfield bought the B&B in 1978. When they first laid eyes on The Captain Lord Mansion, it was used primarily as a residence for elderly women. Since the purchase, they have restored every part of the inn. For 23 years, the mansion has received AAA's four-diamond rating.
