More About Charles Street Inn:

The Charles Street Inn, a restored 1860s townhouse, has received positive reviews in Travel + Leisure, USA Today, The Washington Post, Boston magazine, and other publications. "Urban hideaways don't get much more romantic than the Charles Street Inn," according to the third edition of Romantic Days and Nights in Boston.

Opened as a bed and breakfast in 2000, the Charles Street Inn is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was originally built as a model home, the first such building constructed for that purpose in the United States. Over time, it also served as a doctor's office, a tailor shop, a family home, and an apartment building.

Innkeepers Sally Deane and Louise Venden are experienced at restoring historic homes and say that they have mastered the art of creating "the perfect 20th century neo-Victorian bathroom." Each guest room is decorated with Second Empire / Victorian antiques and is named after a former Boston resident who lived in the Beacon Hill area.
