Lousiville, Kentucky, Bed and Breakfasts

Inns in and around the town famous for the Kentucky Derby

By Elizabeth Arneson, About.com

Louisville is home to the Kentucky Derby, and much more -- including the Victorian homes of Old Louisville, the antique shops of Bardstown Row, the Kentucky Expo Center, the Louisville Orchestra, and the Kentucky Center for the Arts.

Here are a few of Louisville's many great bed and breakfasts:

Aleksander House Bed and Breakfast
A Victorian Italianate built in 1882, this B&B is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It's just minutes from Churchill Downs, the home of the Kentucky Derby.

Inn at Woodhaven
Elaborate woodwork, high ceilings and winding stairs are but a few of the reasons to consider this Gothic Revival B&B.

Old Louisville Inns
The Old Louisville Inns are a collection of three restored Victorian mansions in historic Old Louisville.

Rocking Horse Manor Bed and Breakfast
Five guest rooms are available at this a Richardsonian Romanesque mansion built in 1888.

Samuel Culbertson Mansion
Across the street and down one block from the Old Louisville Inn, this B&B once served as home to a former president of Churchill Downs.

Louisville Bed and Breakfast Association
This organization features about a dozen members, many of which offer an online room availability check and reservation system.

Bed and Breakfast Association of Kentucky
Member inns must meet a set of quality guidelines for hospitality.
