Bed and Breakfasts in Tallahassee, Florida

A sometimes overlooked destination that has plenty to offer visitors.

By Elizabeth Arneson, About.com

Tallahassee, Florida, is a somewhat neglected destination. When most people think of vacationing in Florida, Orlando is generally the first place that springs to mind -- with Jacksonville, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, the Florida Keys, Palm Beach, Amelia Island and others all receiving some consideration.

But Tallahassee has a lot to offer, from the Southern Shakespeare Festival and the Monticello Opera House to the Tiger Sharks ice hockey and everything at Florida State University. You can even take part in some cave-based scuba diving. The Odyssey Science Center and the Tallahassee Museum of History and Natural Science also provide a great way to spend the days.

While you're in Tallahassee, one of these bed and breakfasts should suit your accommodations needs perfectly.

Little English Guest House
Tallahassee, Florida
Tallahassee's only English bed and breakfast, this inn offers two rooms for guests to choose from. Distinctive English pieces can be found throughout the inn, most from innkeeper Tracey Cochran's childhood home in London.

Palmer Place
Monticello, Florida
A restored antebellum home surrounded by 10 acres of gardens, just 26 miles from Tallahassee.
