Inn Size:

11 rooms are available. Each room always features a teddy bear (available for "adoption"), a tradition at the inn for more than 25 years. Ten of the rooms feature king- or queen-sized beds; the 11th offers a full-size bed. Most rooms have a private bath, but a few share a bathroom, so if that's an important consideration for you be sure to double-check your room's status before making a reservation.

Price Range:

$130 to $270 per night, double occupancy. All room rates include breakfast, afternoon wine and hors d'oeuvres, home-baked cookies, sodas, turndown service, loaner bicycles and a morning newspaper.

Green Gables is a Queen Anne Victorian mansion, built in 1888 and restored to serve as a bed and breakfast. The current owners first opened it to guests in 1975, and it opened year-round in 1983. The inn gives visitors panoramic views of Monterey Bay. Adventurous guests might prefer The Gable Room, which has a ladder to the cozy attic room in the gable.

Nearby attractions include Monterey Bay Aquarium, Historic Garden League Tours, Jazz Concerts at Pebble Beach and First Sundays at La Mirada -- an ongoing series at the Monterey Museum of Art which features art and classical music.
